Passive acoustic telemetry detections of Black Carp Mylopharyngodon piceus in the Mississippi River Basin; 2021-2023
February 11, 2026
This dataset represents passively detected locations of acoustic telemetry tagged Black Carp in the Mississippi and Missouri rivers near their confluence. These river segments consisted of both open river and impounded habitat present during observed hydrologic conditions from 2021-2023. Receiver arrays were set in known use areas (determined by active relocations of tagged fish) and set out throughout the year to monitor timing of movements and habitat use in these large rivers throughout various seasonal conditions. Receivers were also set in tributaries along the Mississippi and Missouri rivers to monitor the extent of use and movement in and out of these environments.
