Projections of coastal bluff retreat in Puget Sound

These data provide an estimate of potential coastal bluff retreat and erosion in response to changing conditions and sea-level rise during the 21st century, to help identify and assess possible areas of vulnerability. Present-day bluff-crest positions used as the baseline for projections are also included. Projections were made using numerical models, historical data, and field observations such as historical bluff retreat rate, geologic characteristics, nearshore slope, coastal bluff height, and mean annual wave power, as part of the Coastal Storm Modeling System (CoSMoS).
