Supporting Data for "Subduction intraslab-interface fault interactions in the 2022 Mw 6.4 Ferndale, California, earthquake sequence"

April 2, 2024

This data release pertains to the December 20, 2022, Mw 6.4 Ferndale, California, earthquake and complements the following publication: Shelly, D. R., D. E. Goldberg, K. Z. Materna, R. J. Skoumal, J. L. Hardebeck., C. E. Yoon, W. L. Yeck, and P. S. Earle (2024). Subduction intraslab-interface fault interactions in the 2022 Mw 6.4 Ferndale, California, earthquake sequence, Science Advances, https://doi.org/10.1126/sciadv.adl1226.

This page contains:
(1) Files pertaining to earthquake relocations,
(2) Files pertaining to postseismic GNSS analysis, and
(3) Input data and model results from the coseismic finite-fault inversions.
See attached ReadMe.txt for details.
The dataset includes broadband teleseismic data, regional strong-motion accelerometer data, high-rate Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) data, static GNSS offset estimates, and a centroid moment tensor solution in the formats necessary for input to the Wavelet and simulated Annealing SliP (WASP) finite fault inversion code (https://code.usgs.gov/ghsc/neic/algorithms/neic-finitefault). The broadband seismic data in this data release are from globally distributed seismometers from networks G (https://doi.org/10.18715/GEOSCOPE.G), GE (https://doi.org/10.14470/TR560404), GR (https://doi.org/10.25928/mbx6-hr74), GT (https://doi.org/10.7914/SN/GT), II (https://doi.org/10.7914/SN/II), IU (https://doi.org/10.7914/SN/IU), and US (https://doi.org/10.7914/SN/US). Strong-motion accelerometer data are from networks BK (https://doi.org/10.7932/BDSN), NC (https://doi.org/10.7914/SN/NC), and NP (https://doi.org/10.7914/SN/NP). Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) data are from the Network of the Americas, operated by the EarthScope Consortium (https://www.unavco.org/nota/).

Please see Goldberg et al. (2022) for details on NEIC finite fault inversion procedures: Goldberg, D. E., P. Koch, D. Melgar, S. Riquelme, and W. L. Yeck (2022).
