Surface and shallow subsurface thermal maturity data for the Arkoma basin, Ouachita Mountains, and Ozark dome region of the U.S.A.

Thermal maturity data (vitrinite reflectance (VRo)) from the Arkoma basin, Ouachita Mountains, and Ozark dome region of the U.S. Data were originally collected in graduate student theses and dissertations, and in a research consortia ca. 1980-1990 under the advisement and leadership of David Houseknecht during his time at University of Missouri. Location data were originally in Township-Range-Section format and accompanied by state and county information. We have organized these data into spreadsheets and extrapolated latitude-longitude coordinates for each data point corresponding to the center of the Section in which they reside.
