U-Pb LA-ICPMS and SHRIMP zircon geochronology data from the Bidahochi basin and surrounding areas, northern Arizona
March 5, 2026
This dataset consists of eight sandstone samples and four ash samples collected from the Bidahochi basin that were analyzed for U-Pb zircon ages. The dataset accompanies the publication "Late Miocene Colorado River arrival in Bidahochi basin permits spillover origin of Grand Canyon". Samples were collected from the field by Ryan Crow (USGS) and John Douglass (Paradise Valley Community College faculty) in 2024 and analyzed at the USGS G3 Plasma Lab, the University of Arizona Laserchron Center, and at the Stanford-USGS SHRIMP-RG ion microprobe housed at Stanford University in 2025.
