Vegetation, soil, and elevation data collected from Upper Barataria Marsh Creation BA-0207 in Louisiana, USA (2024)

In October 2024, Real-Time Network (RTN) elevation survey, vegetation cover, and soil properties were collected in five created marshes and one nearby reference marsh within the Upper Barataria Basin in Louisiana, USA. These marshes were created through the placement of dredged material as part the as restoration for the Deepwater Horizon oil spill Natural Resource Damage Assessment. Elevation, water depth, vegetation cover, and soils data were collected from 0.25 m2 plots randomly established within each habitat type present. Vegetation cover data includes percent total cover, percent cover by species, and average height. Soils data includes specific conductance, moisture content, bulk density, organic matter content, soil texture, and particle size.
