Walleye and Lake Sturgeon Egg Deposition and Larval Emergence in the Lower Black River, NY, 2013-2025
September 23, 2026
In order to determine Walleye (Sander vitreus) and Lake Sturgeon (Acipenser fulvescens) production in the lower Black River, New York, data were collected weekly during the spring of 2013-2025. This data release contains the spring sampling data, egg deposition, larval emergence, and density estimates. Density estimates were calculated using egg and larval abundance for both species on natural and artificial spawning reefs.
