USGS Releases Geonarrative Documenting Results of Pesticide Sampling in Pennsylvania Groundwater
USGS, in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (PDA), has released a geonarrative detailing the sampling of pesticides in Pennsylvania’s groundwater
USGS and PDA (Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture) have worked together for more than 20 years to sample and analyze concentrations of pesticides and other compounds that are used to treat agricultural, commercial, and residential spaces. This geonarrative product walks you through the history of the program, a brief background on pesticides and applications in Pennsylvania, a tour of the official USGS methods used to collect a groundwater sample, and current project work. This product also includes a link to a database where all collected data can be downloaded and links to more information about pesticides in groundwater.
