Before and after of EESC Gabrielson building windows bird-friendly transformation
Detailed Description
For years, the EESC Gabrielson building has been protecting birds from windows collisions with a vinyl window film; however, it was beginning to show its age and the appearance was not as welcoming as it could be. In July 2024, the U.S. Geological Survey’s (USGS) Eastern Ecological Science Center (EESC) at Patuxent wrapped up a project to replace the perforated vinyl film on the windows of the Gabrielson building and replace it with a more aesthetically pleasing, yet protective, bird collision deterrent “dots.”
