U.S. Geological Survey scientist viewing primary cultured gill cells on a microscope
Detailed Description
A USGS molecular biologist is viewing primary cultured gill cells on a microscope. The cells are grown on plastic plates so that RNA interference effectiveness and specificity can be evaluated without animal testing. This way, we can rapidly screen through and ensure that only the top candidate siRNAs continue through the development process.
