Critical Minerals Coloring Sheet: Fluorspar

Fluorspar, also called fluorite, is a critical mineral with the chemical formula CaF2. Fun fact: fluorspar crystals are shaped like cubes or octahedrons. Fun fact: fluorspar can be purple, green, blue, pink, yellow, clear, red, white, brown, black, or multiple colors in one crystal!

Fluorspar is used to make chemicals with fluorine. These chemicals are used in things like refrigerants, to help get aluminum from ore, and in toothpaste that fights cavities! Fluorspar is also used to make cement, glass, ceramics, and steel.
