Detailed Description

A simple, conceptual illustration showing the many paths nutrients, sediment, and contaminants may travel before reaching an urban stream.  Sources of contaminants, sediment and nutrients include septic systems, fertilizer, pet waste, atmospheric deposition of nitric oxide and ammonium, construction, automobile leaks/spills, road salt/sand, and discharges from sanitary sewer networks and stormwater infrastructure.
