2021 San Carlos Seismic Survey

A PDF accessible via QR code for San Carlos residents to find more information about the seismic survey happening in their neighborhood between July 12 and July 20, 2021. As part of a regional earthquake hazards study, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting seismic surveys along Howard, Graceland and Eucalyptus Avenues. The surveys are designed to locate potential earthquake faults that have been mapped elsewhere along the San Francisco Peninsula and are associated with the San Andreas Fault, the most active trace of which is located ~3.5 miles west of the study area. Knowledge of fault locations help officials and emergency managers plan for, mitigate, and respond to future earthquakes.
