MOU between USGS and DOD National Geospacial Agency

The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is to establish a framework for partnership and cooperation between the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Department of the Interior and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), Department of Defense (hereinafter the “Parties”) in order to strengthen the Parties’ activities in support of national policy and security.  Recognizing that the participating organizations create and maintain geospatial information and perform common scientific analysis and studies of the earth, the cooperative sharing of resources, expertise and capabilities, contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of activities under the responsibility of the Parties. It is expressly understood and agreed to that this MOU embodies the entire understanding between the Parties regarding the MOU’s subject matter.
