PGRL GCFID Qualitative Analysis Method for Hydrocarbons

Detailed Description
This gas chromatography (GC) method is used to identify compounds to screen, correlate, and characterize extractable organic matter (EOM; also referred to as bitumen) and crude oil samples from natural systems or those produced via laboratory process. Chromatograms generated from hydrocarbon fluids by gas chromatography with flame ionization detection (GCFID) are interpreted to derive characteristic parameters. The parameters are used to gain insights into the origin, maturity, and secondary alteration of hydrocarbons in petroleum systems.
