Detailed Description
The Earth Resources Technology Satellite (ERTS 1) carried two sensor packages on the Return Beam Vidicon (RBV) and the Multispectral Scanner (MSS). The RBV was designed as the primary sensor; however, the MSS sensor proved more reliable. Upon launch the satellite was renamed Landsat 1. EROS History Project
