Detailed Description

View looking downstream into Ernst Tinaja. The Ernst Member of the Boquillas Formation consists of thin-bedded shales that contain inoceramids (an extinct group of clams). These sediments were deposited in the Western Interior Seaway during the Cretaceous Period (Scheubel and Mruk, 1994; Cooper and others (2007).
