Detailed Description
Spatter cones at Fleeners Chimneys. Note the snow-covered cinder cone in the distance. This cone is several miles to the west in the Modoc National Forest. Much of the entire region displays evidence of recent and Quaternary volcanism associated with the Medicine Lake Volcanic Field (Donnelly-Nolan, 1990; Donnelly-Nolan, 1987; Donnelly-Nolan and Champion, 1987).
