Birds for indicators of toxic exposure

Detailed Description

Newly emerging contaminants on selectd Great Lakes food chains and is evaluating exposure and effects of these contaminants on sentinel indicator species-specifically, selected species of birds, such as colonial waterbirds and tree swallows. Birds are ideal sentinel species because of their sensitivity to the presence of and changes in chemical concentrations in the environment.
