Blue Basin Trail
Detailed Description
Blue Basin is a badlands-style outcrop area where bluish-gray sediments of the lower John Day Formation are exposed. A well-maintained trail leads about one-half mile up a canyon to a large natural amphitheater-shaped basin. Along the trail, the park personnel have installed many interpretive exhibits.
