Cape Hatteras National Seashore

Detailed Description
Aerial image, captured by Dann Blackwood of the USGS, of the outermost edge of Cape Hatteras. Capes are the result of complex sediment transport processes and generally jut out into the ocean, away from the rest of the coastline. This image was taken as part of study to better understand the regional sediment dynamics along the coastline of North Carolina.
