Oblique aerial imagery by USGS of Buxton, NC before (top photo) and after (bottom photo) Hurricane Irene. Erosion and overwash associated with the storm moved the shoreline landward. The yellow arrows point to the same feature in both photographs. There is also a sandbar visible in the after photo.
