Capitol Reef - a view from along the Notom-Bullfrog Road
Detailed Description
This view was taken from along the unpaved Notom-Bullfrog Road. It shows the steeply dipping strata of the Dakota Sandstone in the foreground, and the white massive hogbacks of Navajo Sandstone (and a trace of the underlying red Wingate Sandstone) in the distance. Other formations of Jurassic age crop out along the strike valley between these two ridges (not visible here).
