Detailed Description
This view from along Highway 65 approaching Capulin Volcano provides a view of the summit crater. The summit crater is about 400 feet deep. The 2 mile-long park road can be seen winding its way to the summit. Capulin Lake, in the foreground, is a shallow lake surrounded by wetlands that formed in a natural basin between surrounding volcanoes and flows.
