Change in crops in a small area of Montana
Detailed Description
In northern Montana, dryland wheat is a major agricultural crop. Using this close-up view of Annual National Land Cover Database (NLCD) land cover in a study area in northern Montana shows that the majority of cropland is stable, in crop production from 1984-2023. What stands out in this region is the amount of cropland that was in flux. These flux areas are possibly related to Conservation Reserve Program contracts.
