Channel aggradation and erosion within the Sandy River after the Ol...

Detailed Description

Brown coloring represents the thickness of erupted material above present river level that was deposited in two Sandy River channels. Various terrace heights are noted and were recorded in the years noted in the image. Trees from pre-Old-Maid time that were located adjacent to the banks of the Sandy River were buried by the increased sediment load and the trunks resurfaced after some of the material erosion.
