Detailed Description

The Clarion River at Cooksburg, PA (USGS 03029500, WQN-0822) has a drainage area of 807 square miles. The site is near the junction of Clarion, Forest, and Jefferson Counties. It is one of about 124 water-quality sampling sites throughout Pennsylvania that constitutes Pennsylvania's Statewide Surface Water-Quality Monitoring Network (WQN), a cooperative program between Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the USGS. About one third of the sites are sampled every month, and the remaining sites are sample every-other month.
