Detailed Description

 

Wave lapping along the western shore of Coldwater Lake. Coldwater Lake formed when the great avalanche of the May 18th, 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens blocked the stream drainage. Bluffs formed from the avalanche deposits are visible along the southwestern end of this natural lake.
