Detailed Description

~Mile 34.5: Canyon adventurers looking at fossils in the Redwall Limestone at Nautiloid Canyon. Abundant cone shaped, straight-shelled, chambered nautiloids are exposed in the rock here, some are almost a meter long. These fossils occur in the Thunder Springs Member of the Redwall Limestone (Potochnik and Reynolds, 1990).
