Construction of Novel Lamprey Passage Ramp
Detailed Description
EESC Biological Technician John Burns completes construction of multiple novel ramps for study in the passage of Sea Lamprey. Despite the fact that sea lamprey represent a major source of marine derived nutrients on East Coast river, this species has received little attention with respect to passage over dams. This novel ramp is designed with selectively spaced pegs that may promote passage by using the lamprey's body form and locomotion characteristics.
