Continental Divide National Scenic Trail, Swiftcurrent Pass, Glacier National Park with GPS Trail Crew -sm

Detailed Description
This photograph is of several people who are part of the GPS Trail Crew hiking the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail at the Swiftcurrent Pass in Glacier National Park, Montana.
The rocky but worn dirt trail follows the ledge of a mountainside far above treeline. To the right of the hikers, the steep slope shows a shale incline with sharp rocks jutting slightly over the trail. Small sparse patches of ground foliage dot the area.
To the left, the view is vast, spanning over several jagged mountains and a valley leading to a far-off horizon. Sides of the mountain suggest smooth slopes transitioning from bare rock down through increasing greenery and ending at a small, still glacial lake below. One can see the reflection of the overhead clouds in the serene body of water.
With a sun high overhead, a bright sky in the distance, and wispy clouds above a hazy horizon, the scene suggests a warm afternoon hike along the 2.3 mile loop known as the Swiftcurrent Nature Trail and part of the Many Glacier Valley Trails. Hikers will experience a 2,285 ft elevation gain along the trail.
