Detailed Description
Detail of probably the largest explosion of the eruption, taken from Uēkahuna Bluff. Note gas-thrust uprush on the right, dust rising from block impacts on the caldera floor and blowing toward the rising hot explosion column, streamers of ash and gas defining the trajectories of falling blocks on the left, and clouds probably developing from condensation of steam driving the eruption.
