Detailed Description
This view shows the sedimentary layers exposed in a great monoclinal (stair-step) fold visible from the Echo Park Overlook near the northern end of the Harpers Corner Self-guiding Scenic Drive. Echo Park is the name of the lowland near the confluence of the Green and Yampa Rivers. Steamboat Rock is the barren white butte along the river valley in the upper right corner of this image.
