Dinosaur National Monument - petroglyphs of lizards and other images

Detailed Description

This view shows petroglyphs of lizards and other images carved into the desert varnish on cliffs along the Petroglyph Trail. Literature about the American Indian history suggests that these carving were made by the Fremont people probably in the vicinity of A.D. 950-1200 (Gunnerson, 1960).
