Diseased Monitpora Coral

Coral tissue loss revealed by a white skeleton. The mats of grey-black organic material are cyanobacteria, and separate the dead coral from the intact tissue. The green dots indicate macroalgae; the red dots indicate cyanobacteria-associated tissue loss; and the blue dots indicate live coral.
