Dome in Lehman Cave

Dome in Lehman Cave

Detailed Description

This view shows the irregular or dome-like shape of a passage typical of a solution cave. The smooth, but irregular shape of the cavern walls formed as water currents following fractures in the bedrock gradually dissolved away the limestone and marble, carving the irregularly shaped passages over a long period of time.
