Eureka Peak fault

1992 (approx.)

Detailed Description

In addition to the Landers mainshock rupture, there was also a minor surface break to the south of the mainshock, on the Eureka Peak fault.  Detailed analysis showed that this surface break was caused not by the mainshock, but by very early large aftershocks.
