Flock of White Pelicans near Green River, WY

Shortly after launch, we came across a flock of American White Pelicans. While many people think of pelicans when they think of the ocean, the American White Pelican can actually be found roosting in many inland areas of the United States and Canada, usually moving to coastal areas in the winter. Their inland range includes the southern part of Wyoming, where we started our expedition.
