Kalman filter to predict shoreline change

Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center's  Massachusetts Integrated Coastal Studies project staff are testing a new method to forecast shoreline change called the kalman filter.  We are using shorelines collected before 2008 to predict the position of the 2018 shoreline.  We are comparing this forecast to the actual shoreline surveyed in 2018.
