Landers Surface break

1992 (approx.)

Detailed Description

Surface break on the Emerson fault.  The strongest shaking in any earthquake is generally concentrated close to the fault.  While Landers generated strongly felt shaking through nearly all of southern California, damage was relatively light because the most severe shaking was generally concentrated in a very remote part of the Mojave Desert.
