Local family who helped USGS run gage at Nolin River at Kyrock, KY

Detailed Description

This is a pioneer family that tended the gage at Nolan. The photo was taken June of 1939 standing in front of their house. Claude Sanders sent weekly reports in, and kept watch on the gage house until early 1960, when they were relocated due to dam construction. In the photo left to right rear: Overt Sanders, Blanche Sanders, Claude Sanders and his wife Effie. Front row l/r: Carl Sanders and Granville Sanders.
