Detailed Description

Melanie Ruiz is the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Officer.  Melanie joined USGS from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, where she worked on FOIA and Endangered Species Act litigation for 23 years.  Melanie holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Florida and a J.D. from the University of New Mexico with a concentration in environmental and Indian law.
