Mesquite Flat

Steep debris cones occur along the steep western flank of the Grapevine Mountains south of the Titus Canyon fan along Highway 267 about 10 miles north of Beatty Junction. Creosote bush grows on the alluvial fan in the foreground. At the time this image was taken on Thanksgiving, 2003, tarantulas were migrating in this area.
