Phases of Urban Stream Restoration
Detailed Description
- Hydrologic: Precipitation is able to move through the watershed and into urban streams instead of being diverted away.
- Hydraulic: Hydrologic restorations leads to flow and discharge through the urban stream becoming less flashy.
- Geomorphic: Restored stream hydraulics lead to geomorphic changes in the streambed, stream bank, and floodplain.
- Physiochemical: Restored stream hydrology and geomorphology leads to stabilization of factors such as temperature, pH, and specific conductance.
- Biological: Previous factors lead to increased biodiversity.
