Detailed Description
This "pointer bomb," dropped on the 1935 Mauna Loa Humu‘ula lava flow, was found and photographed in 1939 during Thomas Jaggar's post-eruption inspection of the flow, and again in 1977 by now-retired USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory geologist Jack Lockwood.
