Sea turtle biologists conducting field work

Detailed Description

After laying her eggs, this female loggerhead sea turtle was corralled so USGS scientists could work quickly and safely to collect biological information about her, including shell width and length. This sea turtle received a satellite tag which will let scientists track her movements once she returns to the ocean. (Sea turtle field work represented here conducted pursuant to permits MTP-176, DRTO-2018-SCI-0007, and NMFS 20315)
