Solar Panel of Photovoltaic Cells

Detailed Description

Solar panels or arrays of photovoltaic cells convert renewable solar radiation into electricity by a clean and environmentally sound means. Collected solar energy can either be used instantly or stored in batteries for later use. These systems can be used as a component of a larger photovoltaic system to generate and supply electricity in commercial and residential applications. Solar panels were once almost exclusively used in space, powering the electrical systems in satellites as far back as 1958. Today solar panels are used to generate power for the International Space Station, vehicles, highway signage, calculators, toys, and almost anything that electricity powers.
