Sometimes equipment gets moved

Detailed Description

USGS Scientists, including Johnathan Woodruff often encounter difficulties navigating post-storm study areas. Like when you arrive on site and the dune has been completely destroyed and the equipment that was anchored six feet into the dune is missing. The USGS camera at Fort DeSoto Park, FL was on a post sunk six feet into the dune, but the entire dune was wiped away by the storm surge and waves, allowing the post to topple onto the beach and be covered in sand. USGS Scientists noticed the solar panel barely poking out of the sand and were able to recover the post and equipment.
