Titus Canyon
Detailed Description
This view looking down the lower Titus Canyon shows sedimentary rocks of Cambrian age. The Cambrian period lasted from about 542 to 488 million years ago. Dolomite units tend to be darker and denser than lighter gray and more massive limestone units. Some thin, reddish, sandstone layers stand out the distant cliff. These sandstone beds are probably part of the Cambrian Carrara Formation.
