The U.S. Geological Survey has been studying a reach of Sope Creek for many years as part of the National Water Quality Assessment Program (NAWQA). <span style="color: green">Part of this study</span> is the collection of fish in a 180 meter reach of stream. We use a backpack electrofisher with minimal electricity to briefly stun the fish. We identify, measure, weigh, and release the fish. For more information:
